Leon Mullen MD

Family Background:
Father, Harold E. Mullen served in the U.S. Army WWII, then became a civilian employee at U.S. Coast Guard Air Station In Elizabeth City, North Carolina. He retired from Coast Guard after twenty years. Brother, Jeri E. Mullen served In U.S. Marines during Vietnam War.

My Objective:
To give back support to veterans for the support I received from them since early childhood.

Experiences:

Volunteer Service at VAH at Tuskegee Institute, Alabama 1963 to ’64, received a certificate for over one hundred hours of volunteer service, independent of the organization or group affiliation.

Army ROTC, Tuskegee Institute, Alabama September 1963 to May ’67. Commissioned Second Lieutenant May ’67.

Active Duty, MSC officer-September 1969 to March ’72 Assignment Fort Sam Houston, Texas September 1969 to December ’69. Assignment Fort Devens, Massachusetts January 1970 to March ’72.
4) VAH of Durham, North Carolina March ’72 to August’72. Supervisor evening laboratory services March ’72 to August ’72.

SUNY-Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, New York, September 1972 to May 1976. Medical degree in May 1976.

Nassau County Medical Center, East Meadow, New York Medical Internship, July 1, 1976, to June 30, ’77. Medical Residency, July 1, 1977, to June 30, ’79. Cardiology Fellowship, July 1, 1979, to June 30, ’81.

Private Practice, July 11981 to Present. 30 Merrick Avenue, Suite 105, East Meadow, New York.

Nassau County Department of Drug and Alcohol Addiction, Medical Director 1986 to 1992.
